Below is an introduction to "Which cars use timing chains?": Cars that use timing chains include the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, and Lotus L3 engine. The main function of the timing belt is to drive the engine's valve train, causing the intake and exhaust valves to open or close at the appropriate times to ensure proper intake and exhaust of air from the engine cylinders. Here are the steps for replacing a timing chain:

1. Remove the valve cover, remove the crankshaft pulley, and remove the timing chain housing; rotate the crankshaft to top dead center of cylinder one, and tighten the crankshaft retaining screws to secure the crankshaft;

2. Rotate the intake and exhaust camshafts. Align the two camshaft grooves at the rear end and insert a special tool;

3. Remove the old chain and install the new chain. The crankshaft pulley does not have a sliding key. During installation, there is a round hole on the pulley; align it with the groove on the chain housing.

4. The crankshaft position sensor is adjustable. During installation, ensure the clearance is properly adjusted; otherwise, a fault code will be displayed. Both the crankshaft sprocket and pulley rotate freely.
