FAQ
Is it necessary to replace other associated components during installation?
It is advisable to synchronously inspect or replace the water pump, oil pump, seals, etc., to avoid secondary disassembly and reassembly.
Are any special tools required to complete the timing system replacement?
No. Special tools are available and may make the task easier; however, the system replacement can be completed without any special tools.
Does the tensioner need to be activated? When?
Yes, after installation. The tensioner piston must be compressed completely and then released after installation against the chain. Failure to properly activate the tensioner can cause timing system failure.
Can individual components be purchased separately? For instance, can one replace just the chain without replacing the tensioner?
It is advisable to replace the entire set, as mismatched wear between new and old parts may lead to malfunctions.
